The National Orange Show will partner with Kiwanis Division 36 and affiliated high school Key Clubs on a service project to benefit the 101st NOS Citrus Fair April 20-24, 2106.

Kiwanis Division 36 will visit citrus grove locations in the Inland Empire to collect citrus fruit to be used by the community in the NOS’s historic Citrus Display contest. The Citrus Display contest is unique to the Inland Empire and rooted in tradition. Started over a century ago, the contest began as a way to promote the local citrus industry by showcasing beautiful displays that incorporated live California citrus fruit. Today, the free contest is a way to celebrate our area’s agricultural history, show support in the community, and promote one’s business, school or organization.

The National Orange Show will coordinate with Kiwanis Division 36 to help pick citrus fruit on location on Sunday, April 17th between the hours of 12pm and 5pm. Volunteers from Kiwanis will travel to locations in the Inland Empire to pick, box and ship fruit. The fruit collected by Kiwanis will be available to the community on a first come, first serve basis for use in creating Citrus Displays.

In addition, the NOS will host several opportunities for community members to donate citrus fruit, in exchange for free admission to the 101st Citrus Fair:

Saturday, April 16th: The National Orange Show will be hosting a citrus fruit donation site at Gerrard’s Market in Redlands. Fruit may be dropped off between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Individuals will receive a ticket for free admission to the fair per 5lb bag donation.

Monday, April 18th:The National Orange Show will be accepting citrus donations at their location on 689 S. “E” Street in San Bernardino. Individuals may drop off donations to the administrative office at Gate 1 and will receive 1 ticket for free admission to the fair per 5lb bag.
