Sometimes, the best dining experiences are created by classically trained chefs who don’t take themselves too seriously. Such is the case at PHOOD on Main, where controlled whimsy is the trademark and loyal regulars refer to themselves as “phoodies.”  A guitarist-singer performs most Friday and Saturday evenings from the mezzanine, and our beloved Chef Marla Cohen works the room, offering culinary trivia and self-effacing humor worthy of a comedy club.  Our dishes are full of variety and Chef Marla’s tongue-in-cheek menu confidently describes our garlicky rock shrimp in sambal-spiked aioli. Chef Cohen makes all our desserts in-house, including a red velvet cupcake with thick cream-cheese icing for an old-fashioned finish.
