When you say Inland Empire you now have another bright shining example of what it means to come from the IE. The Co-ed Cheer team at Summit High School has remained National Champions for the 5th straight year.
In an email from coach Jesse Cerda “In two amazing performances they were able to hold on to their title of national champions!” Summit High advanced through a multitude of contests to find themselves once again #1 on the National Stage. Coach Cerda said this about the division his Varsity team competes in “We compete in Varsity Coed Show Cheer Intermediate which allows for tumbling”.
Coach Cerda is truly proud of his team as you can see from his glowing Facebook post:
“This year I’d have to say that they were really a team and were closer as friends and family then any other team I have coached! So many memories that these kids will have for the rest of their lives and I am glad I played at least a small role in that. Teaching and coaching are the most rewarding jobs.”
April Clay had this to say about the school, team and cheer coach:
“So my kids attend a superior school and it has everything to do with leadership! Congrats to our humble but powerful ASB director & Cheer Coach: Jesse Cerda and our Skyhawk Cheer team! You are #1 5 years straight! Go Skyhawks!”
Congrats to the Summit High School Cheer teams and all the IE athletes that make our lives extra special with all their hard work and dedication.
