AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY’S LITERACY PROGRAM KICKS-OFF WITH SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES

Fontana, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2019) – Staff members from Auto Club Speedway and Lefty, the Official Mascot  of Lefty’s Kids Club, are hitting the road to make pit stops at 19 elementary school assemblies from  Jan. 7 through Feb. 1 to rev up students and teachers for the upcoming free literacy program, Lefty’s Reading Challenge, where students read to win money for their libraries, school-wide pizza parties and free NASCAR race tickets.

Local community partners, are also participating in select school assemblies. Omnitrans along with their mascot Buster will attend elementary schools in Inland Empire, and Petersen Automotive Museum will join the Speedway team schools in the Los Angeles area.

Partners of Lefty’s Reading Challenge will also reward students that complete 20 books or reading assignments within four weeks. Petersen Automotive Museum will present students with a pair of student tickets to the museum, upon purchase of an adult ticket, and Omnitrans is providing a complimentary one-day bus pass for each student that completes the challenge. SPY Optic will provide tips and tricks for proper eyewear for families and students along with 20% off on their website.
