IKEA Plans to Return to the Inland Empire

IKEA is known for providing a wide range of furniture styles and a wide selection of  accessories is once again planning to open a retail store here in the Inland Empire. After having an IKEA store in south Fontana from 1992 to 1997 many people missed the opportunity to visit the furniture retail giant.

IKEA has bought 19 acres of land in the 257-acre Meredith International Centre, where it plans to build a 330,000-square-foot store. Currently Best Buy, QVC, Infiniti and Audi are already occupying space here. A major apartment complex is going in across the street which will provide an anticipated influx of local shoppers.

IKEA is early in the planning stages of this development so there isn’t a construction date or completion date set yet. More than just another amazing shopping destination this development creates what are to be hundreds of news jobs right here in the Inland Empire.

More than just a furniture store IKEA is popular for offering a food area as well as a maze of every type of accessory you could ever need for your home. So what do you think are you excited to see IKEA return to the Inland Empire?
