1st Northgate Market Comes to the Inland Empire

When you think of one of the many old Toys-R-Us buildings does Latino Supermarket?

Well in Riverside Northgate Markets labeled by their fans as the Latino Disneyland took an old Toys-R-Us building and made your supermarket dreams come true! Northgate Markets offers everyday low prices eliminating the need to watch for special sales to keep food costs down.

The new store will also have a community room available for non-profit organizations needing meeting space. Northgate Market plans to partner with community organizations to host diabetes classes, cooking classes, yoga classes and more. Additionally, the new store will include a medical clinic, Clinica Bienestar, where customers and local residents will be able to see a doctor for a wellness check and receive other medical services.

This new store also offers:

  • Hot and Cold Food Bars – Featuring 8 varieties of tamales, 10 hot soups and stews, a fresh salsa bar and 8 self-serve hot meals for any meal occasion.
  • A Made-to-Order Taqueria where traditional favorites like burritos, tacos, tortas, sandwiches and more are made special order.
  • An impressive Fresh Produce Selection: Featuring an extensive selection of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables from around the world, including hard to find spices, dried chiles, and Mexican herbs – all delivered fresh 7 days a week.
  • Expanded Meats and Cheeses – a specialty meat and cheese shop where customers will find one of the largest collections of foods from Latin American as well as favorites from around the world!
  • An expanded bakery/panaderia with the addition of more than 100 artisan breads, cakes, and cookies – all made hot and fresh every day.
  • An extensive beer, wine and tequila section where customers can find their favorite beverage of choice amongst one the largest selections in Southern California.
  • One of the largest seafood and sushi offerings around including 10 ceviche’s and shrimp cocktails – made with authentic recipes from around the world, as well as a large fresh seafood/pescaderia section offering exciting fresh catches of the week. Customers will also be able to enjoy fresh sushi made by our in-store sushi chef.
  • Northgate Market will also continue to provide the foods that made them famous – scratch-made bolillo rolls, freshly made carnitas, fire-roasted split chicken and freshly made flour and corn tortillas – all made in house from masa that is still made from stone-ground corn every day.

The new supermarket represents an economic development success story for the City of Riverside which is currently experiencing an economic renaissance.
