This Riverside Store Is a Time Machine!

Located in downtown Riverside is a store that the minute you walk with you are taken back to the past. Much like the Alicia Silverstone movie blast from the past this store takes you back to a simpler time and one that had its own type of swagger.

Not Another Mod Snob is an online antique business with a brick and mortar location that is shared with Good Will Hunted, Mighty Mike’s Vintage Shop and a plant store called BaumLove Co. Courtney Gallagher the owner of Not Another Mod Snob rents out space to the other three businesses she shares space with. Courtney moved from the Brockton Arcade to a spot on Magnolia Avenue.

The type of antiques are not like those you will find at more traditional antique stores like the Mission Galleria Antique Shoppe where items appear to be from the early 1900’s or retro stuff we all loved in the 80’s and 90’s. No this store feeds a time stuck in between those two periods from the 1950’s thru 1970’s. Mid Century Modern items have made their comeback in large part because of Palm Springs and the wide use of the Mid Century era design style. The use of the Mid Century Modern style is so prevalent in the desert that an entire festival was created for it Modernism Week.

The mission of Modernism Week is to celebrate and foster appreciation of mid century architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking in these fields, by encouraging education, preservation and sustainable modern living as represented in Palm Springs.

Have you been by this shop yet? Are you a fan of the Mid Century Style?
