Two years ago a pair of country music artists were both on Season 14 of The Voice and even though they both fell short of winning that season both agree they won an amazing prize. The duo who became friends while on The Voice have teamed up to tackle professional country music with Black River Entertainment. Both Pryor Baird and Kaleb Lee have remained close over the last couple years and are amazed to see what has happened in their lives since being on The Voice. Ironically this idea of creating a Duo has only happened over the last three months. Pryor & Lee have released EP’s individually but have come back to recreate what fans came to love from The Voice when the two sang together in the battle round.
Both artists were labeled by coach Blake Shelton as having a very unique sound and style to how they approached country music. So the question is who inspired you in your journey into Country Music. Pryor Braid said his to favorite Country Artists are Travis Tritt for his raspy sound, “the minute you hear his voice you know who that is and it is amazing”. Pryor also said he was a fan of Vince Gill for his “crisp clear voice and amazing guitar skills”. Kaleb Lee not only agrees with Pryor that Travis Tritt and Vince Gill are amazing picks but he decided to be “a little cliche but my favorite country artist is the duo Brooks & Dunn.” Looking back to the amount of success that Brooks & Dunn have had and looking now at these talented musicians the world seems like another amazing Country Duo is before us.
So fast forward to Nascar and next weekend the guys got to play at the Daytona 500. We asked the guys how does it feel to be in this position and kicking off your Country’s Back tour in Fontana, Ca. “We are just so excited to be at this track in Fontana and to be kicking off this tour it is amazing” said Kaleb Lee. To be on this stage at the Auto Club 400 where so many popular and exciting acts have preformed in the past it makes us feel special to be a part of this tracks music history.
Looking to the Nascar race itself, it is always fun to know who other celebrities are rooting for. Both Pryor and Lee are big Nascar fans and each have their own driver. Kaleb Lee said he is an Austin Dillon is his driver and Pryor Baird said his favorite driver is Clint Bowyer. One thing everyone can agree on that this week we were all Ryan Newman fans as the Daytona 500 ended in a major wreck where Ryan Newman was taken away by ambulance both Pryor & Lee said they were happy to see the photo of Ryan Newman walking out of the hospital two days later holding hands with his young daughter’s.
