We asked in a post this week about your plans for Dad as Father’s Day is June 19th (this Sunday). So we thought why not turn your responses into ideas on what to do with Dad this weekend. So our almost 100K fans came up with the following ideas on how to celebrate the man that means so much to all of us.
Here are a list of ideas:
- Take Dad to a sporting event: This weekend your in luck because we have our own freeway series wrapping up this Sunday as the Inland Empire 66ers are taking on the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in Rancho. There is also an opportunity for the kids to run on the bases after the game. For the schedule click here.
- Disk Golf: This outdoor activity has become very popular. There are Two great locations to get your ROLF on and that is at the Yucaipa Regional Park. They have a Disk Golf Course laid out through the park. Another great spot is the Mt Baldy Ski Lift area!
- Spend the day watching what Dad loves: We all know the battle that can ensue when Dad and the kids square off on who gets to control of the T.V. Watch and old movie with Dad or a documentary.
- Glamping or Camping: Jump into the RV or grab the camping gear and tent and spend the weekend with Dad in the Mountains or your favorite camping spot. One great spot to camp is the Mountain Lakes Resort in Lytle Creek.
- Cheech Marin Center for Art: A public-private partnership between RAM, the City of Riverside, and comedian Cheech Marin—one of the world’s foremost collectors of Chicano art—The Cheech will be the “center of Chicano art, not only for painting, but for sculpture, photography, and video arts.”
- Favorite Foods and Beverages: Save the gas and chill at home with Dad and grill up some great treats and enjoy your dads favorite drinks. Just spending time over some great food and relaxing is what Dad wants many times. Don’t forget that Redlands Ranch Market has amazing meat, sides and drinks ready for you to grab and put together for Dad.
These were just the top ideas and there is really a laundry list of things you can do with Dad. One thing from our post that stood out is that not everyone has their Dad with them anymore and we are sorry about that. Others don’t have a Dad they want to celebrate we too are very sorry that is your experience.
