Inland Empire Group Wins Rose Parade Float Award

Inland Empire Group Wins Rose Parade Float Award

Big Bear won the award for “Most outstanding depiction of life in California!!”

This was no surprise to those of us that like to call Big Bear our home away from home. Joel has been up in Big Bear showing off the Zoo, Cabins, Restaurants and so much more. Big Bear is also where Joel likes to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and find his center.

Big Bear Steals California Award

The Big Bear Rose Parade Float Association had this to say about their experience at the Rose Parade this year:

A small community has come together in a grass-roots fashion to create a quick float view with some of the wonders of Big Bear, California. With scenes and activities from all four seasons, our float encompasses what nature has to offer us in the mountains, how people can “Play. Rest. Repeat.” throughout the year and truly rejuvenate themselves from the stresses of everyday life. From the idea and design, to fundraising and decorating, our band of volunteers has worked tirelessly to broadcast Big Bear’s message, to promote awareness of our mountaintop beauty and help preserve the Valley for decades and generations to come. We are so very excited to see our inaugural float head down Colorado Blvd tomorrow and share the natural wealth of our beautiful community with the world.

Big Bear Alpine Zoo represents! The zoo will be prominently featured in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade! This is the inaugural float for the Big Bear Rose Parade Float Association!

Big Bear showcased the things you can do year round in Big Bear like Kayak, Fish or Ski & Snowboard. The Big Bear float also had live animals! The Alpine Zoo in Big Bear was represented on this years float with staff from the zoo and one of their owls!!!! One of the staff on the inaugural float is Bob Cisneros. Bob became a Curator in March of 2015.  Bob brings with him  a wealth of knowledge, having worked at the San Diego Zoo for 21 years. You can see Bob holding an owl in the picture above!
