On May 2nd at 3:30 pm Miguel’s Jr will be holding the Grand Opening for their latest location to open in the Inland Empire in Rialto.
The new Miguel’s Jr is Located in the new retail shopping center in the North End of Rialto called the Renaissance Marketplace. The new Miguel’s is located off the 210 freeway and Ayala Ave. The portion of the Renaissance Marketplace that Miguel’s Jr is located has been dubbed by locals as the new restaurant alley reminiscent of what Hospitality Lane in San Bernardino used to be. The dining options begin with Cracker Barrel on the other side of Ayala (opening on May 13th) then has Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Miguel’s Jr and a Starbucks all on one side of Renaissance Parkway. The other side has many new restaurants like September’s Tap Room, Olive Garden (under construction) and Norms (coming soon).
We got a chance to sit down with Miguel’s Jr CEO Javier Vasquez and ask him about this location and learn about this popular business. Miguel’s Jr has an amazing story as they are one of the last family owned and run businesses in the IE.
Mike and Mary Vasquez came to San Bernardino to raise their family and open a business that has become a Inland Empire staple. All of the recipes are original recipes from Javier’s mother Mary Vasquez. Special attention goes into Miguel’s Jr. tortillas, they are hand stretched and made especially for Miguel’s Jr. and they don’t have any of the preservative GUM in them that gives tortillas a more elastic stretch. The beans are made in the restaurant twice a day and the family still uses the same cheese provider. The cheese hasn’t changed since they started and they use a sharp cheddar cheese.
