We are approaching that time of year where we honor those who have served us and protected us and still alive. To mark the date and honor those who served our country, a slew of restaurants and eateries will provide free meals, drinks or other treats to active and retired military personnel.
If your a Veteran and play your cards right you can enjoy a wide variety of restaurants for free all day long!
Each restaurant has different offerings, so be sure to look into each one specifically to make sure you’re eligible to take advantage of their Veterans Day discounts and freebies! Some restaurants require a military ID for their Veterans Day 2019 freebies and discounts, so make sure to have a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, a photograph of yourself in uniform (or just be wearing your uniform!), DD214, Citation or Commendation on hand as needed.
Applebee’s
For the past 11 years, Applebee’s has offered free entrees from a special menu to veterans and active duty military personnel for Veterans Day. They’re continuing the tradition for Veterans Day 2019.
BJ’s Restaurant and Brew House
BJ’s Restaurant and Brew House will honor veterans and active duty military with a free Dr. Pepper and entree up to $14.95 for Veterans Day 2019. Military ID or other proof of service is required to snag this deal.
California Pizza Kitchen
Veterans and active military members can enjoy a choice of a complimentary pizza, pasta or full size salad and beverage from California Pizza Kitchen’s Veterans Day menu at all participating California Pizza Kitchen locations nationwide on Veterans Day 2019.
Carrabba’s Italian Grill
In honor of Veterans Day 2019, Carrabba’s Italian Grill offers free calamari with a purchase with valid ID for active duty military and veterans. The Italian eatery also offers a special ongoing 10 percent Heroes Discount for all servicemen and women, police officers, firefighters and first responders starting on Nov. 12, 2019.
Chili’s
Veterans and active duty military can get a free entree from Chili’s on Veterans Day 2019. The special menu includes Chili’s signature Chicken Crispers, Margarita Grilled Chicken, Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, Just Bacon Burger, Oldtimer with Cheese, Cajun Chicken Pasta, or a bowl of chili, soup or salad. Chili’s also partners with veterans’ causes year-round, including Veteran Jobs Mission, Snowball Express and Wreaths Across America.
Cracker Barrel
Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free dessert at Cracker Barrel for Veterans Day 2019. The comfort food staple and country store support numerous military charities through their Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation, including Operation Homefront, Fisher House Foundation, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and The Legion Fund.
Farmer Boys
Veterans and active duty military with valid ID can enjoy a free cheeseburger at Farmer Boys on Veterans Day 2019.
Golden Corral
Every year, Golden Corral hosts Military Appreciation Night. This year, on Veterans Day 2019, any person who has served in the US Military (retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves) is eligible for a free meal at any Golden Corral location.
Hooters
Veterans and active duty military with military ID or proof of service can enjoy a free entree from a special Hooters Veterans Day menu with a purchase of a beverage on Veterans Day 2019. The special menu includes several Hooters favorites, including 10-Piece Traditional Wings, 10-Piece Smoked Wings, 10-Piece Boneless Wings, Hooters Burger, Buffalo Chicken Salad and Buffalo Chicken Sandwich.
IHOP
IHOP offers free pancakes to active duty military and veterans for Veterans Day 2019 at participating locations.
Little Caesar’s
Veterans and military with valid ID can snag a free $5 Hot and Ready lunch combo from Little Caesar’s on Veterans Day 2019 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ
For the entire month of November, active duty and veteran military personnel will receive 20 percent off of their bill at Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ with valid ID to mark Military Appreciation Month. On Veterans Day 2019, active duty military and veterans will also get a free dessert.
Olive Garden
Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free entree from a specially curated menu at participating Olive Garden locations for Veterans Day 2019.
Outback Steakhouse
Outback Steakhouse will, like Carrabba’s, also offer a special ongoing 10 percent Heroes Discount for all servicemen and women, police officers, firefighters and first responders starting on Nov. 12, 2019. The Heroes Discount will be upped to 20 percent off their entire check from Nov. 8, 2019 through Nov. 11, 2019. Diners can also donate to Operation Homefront from Nov. 6, 2019 to Jan. 7, 2020 by purchasing a Homefront Hero cocktail or donating a meal to a military family through a gift card purchase or donating on their checks in their restaurant of choice.
Red Lobster
Red Lobster diners can enjoy a free appetizer or dessert on Veterans Day 2019 at participating locations.
Red Robin
Veterans and military with proof of service can enjoy a free Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries at Red Robin this Veterans Day.
Romano’s Macaroni Grill
Romano’s Macaroni Grill will offer a free Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti entree at all U.S. locations (dine-in only) on Veterans Day 2019 to veterans and active duty military with ID or proof of service.
Sizzler
Participating Sizzler locations offer a free meal to veterans and active duty military until 4:00 p.m. Servicemen and women and vets can choose from a 6 oz. Tri Tip Steak, Malibu Chicken or a half-dozen Jumbo Crispy Shrimp and will also receive a free side and a coffee, tea or fountain drink. Military ID, uniform or a photo in uniform is required.
Starbucks
Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free tall coffee at Starbucks on Veterans Day 2019.
TGI Friday’s
TGI Friday’s offers a free lunch to veterans and active duty military with ID up to $12 in value on Veterans Day at participating locations. Check with your local Friday’s to be sure they’re part of it!
Yard House
Yard House offers a free appetizer for veterans and active duty military for Veterans Day.
Famous Dave’s
Veterans and active duty military with a valid ID can get a free meal at participating Famous Dave’s this Veterans Day.
Logan’s Roadhouse
Veterans and active duty military with valid proof of service will receive a free American Roadhouse Meal on at Logan’s Roadhouse locations for Veterans Day. Logan’s Roadhouse locations will also ask customers to round up on their bills, with the proceeds going to the Folds of Honor campaign, which provides scholarships and educational opportunities to children of fallen and disabled American service members. Logan’s Roadhouse has a 10 percent military and veteran discount year-round.
Luna Grill
Luna Grill offers veterans and active duty military with valid ID their choice of a free meal from Nov. 9 through Nov. 11, 2019.
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt
Veterans and active duty military with valid ID can enjoy a free Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt on Veterans Day 2019.

Veterans and active military can receive a free lunch on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all Texas Roadhouse locations.

Chipotle offers its annual Military Appreciation BOGO deal for all active duty military, reserves, national guard, military spouses and retired military with valid ID, at all restaurants in the U.S. from open to close on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, 2019. The offer is valid on burritos, bowls, salads and taco orders.
